Trail conditions around Deer Park Pond

I did this hike last week. Yes, some of the trails were quite wet -- and so were a number of trails elsewhere, in view of the recent heavy rains. I wore good-quality hiking boots, and my feet stayed pretty dry even though I had to walk through water in several places. Most of the trails around the pond were not all that wet -- even last week.

So the author of the comment is correct in warning hikers that some of the trails in the area around Deer Park Pond may be wet after heavy rains. Just be prepared with appropriate footwear!
